Thermodiffusion Zinc Coating

Thermodiffusion Zinc Coating (TZC) for couplings and OCTG tool joints.  

Thermodiffusion Zinc Coating for couplings and OCTG tool joints is a customer development of TEMERSO company, that is aimed at increase of overhaul life of pipes.

This coating conforms fully to requirements of GOST and API standards, has a series of advantages over phosphate coating.

Advantages:

1)      Higher abrasion resistance, that is proved by the tests and exploitation during 5 years in different oil companies, such as: Rosneft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegas, Tatneft, Bashneft, Yukos and others. These tests proved abrasion resistance of pin&box thread connections TZC. It was proved that:

-         Tubing with TZC couplings resist from 30 to 50 of round-trip operations without maintenance of field ends an replacement of couplings (common couplings resist on average 4-6 round-trip operations);

-         Drill pipes with TZC tool joints resist guaranteed 1200 round-trip operations, meanwhile tool joints with phosphate coating usually work on 200 round-trip operations till maintenance;

2)      Higher structural integrity of thread connection, as Zinc fills grooves in thread connections.

3)      Anti-corrosion resistance of connection, achieved due to tread properties of Zinc coating. This resistance was tested and proved during exploitation tests in Russian oil companies.

4)      Cost effectiveness. This factor is gained due to above mentioned properties of couplings. Although price of couplings and tool joints with TZC is higher than common coupling and tool joints– with phosphate coating, cost effectiveness effect will be felt after several months from beginning of exploitation. Usage of this coating for thread connections doesn’t require any changes in technology of oil production, as well as purchase of any additional equipment or instruments.
