Tubular ID coating

OOO Temerso-Engineering offers internal protective coating application services for oilfield tubular goods and line pipe.

Internal polymer coating is applied to protect tubing, drill pipe and line pipe from corrosion, from asphaltene, tar and paraffin deposits, and to improve pipe internal surface roughness.

Range of tubular goods:

  • Coated tubing OD: 60.3 to 114.3 mm, length up to 12.5 m
  • Coated drill pipe OD: 60.3 to 168.3 mm, length up to 12.5 m

Production capacity:

  • Workshop production capacity is 30 tons of tubing or 20 tons of drill pipe per work shift (8 hrs).

Types of coating:

ТС3000 and ТС2000 type coatings intended for protection of tubing and drill pipe internal surface were designed by HILONG and adapted to the Russian market requirements.
The coating application procedure at HILONG facilities was validated and certified per NS-1 ™ level 2 as a batch process in November 2006.

Functions of ТС2000 series coating on internal surface of drill pipe:

  • Drill pipe corrosion fatigue limit is increased, thus reducing probability of fatigue cracking.
  • Mud circulation hydraulic energy losses are reduced.
  • Rate of deposition of mud solids, scale and corrosion products on pipe internal surface is reduced.
  • Drill pipe material erosion caused by circulating mud with abrasive particles is reduced.
  • Use of a broader range of circulating fluids with various pH values.
  • Well drilling with high bottomhole pressure and temperature.
  • Protects DP internal surface against corrosion of various types.
  • Certain ТС2000S type coatings protect DP internal surface against CO2 and H2S attack, thus reducing probability of DP body sulfide stress cracking.
  • Use of drill pipe as work string for acid jobs.

  • ТС2000 series coatings used when drilling highly complex wells with highly corrosive well fluids enable DP runs of 20,000 m minimum.
  • ТС2000 coating prevents pitting corrosion on internal pipe surface, where such pits become hotbeds of fatigue cracking. Therefore, this coating reduces probability of drill pipe body fatigue damage.
  • ТС2000 series coatings used when drilling medium-complexity wells enable DP runs of 100,000 m minimum.
  • The use of ТС2000 coatings helps extend service life of drill pipe.

Functions of tubing internal coating:

  • Protection of tubulars internal surface against various types of corrosion.
  • Service fluid and mud circulation hydraulic energy losses are reduced in tubing and drill pipe.
  • Rate of deposition of asphaltene, tar and paraffin, scale and corrosion products (in tubing) or mud solids (in drill pipe) on pipe internal surface is reduced.
  • The use of polymer coating in tubing helps extend well on-stream time between workovers.
  • The use of polymer coating in drill pipe enables drilling at high bottomhole pressure and temperature and using a broader range of circulating fluids with various pH values.
